Richard Phillips
TWhite
TWhite AKA Troy White is a graphic designer and art director from Florida. This Of Montreal poster which he designed with Yasly (a creative collective also based in Florida) got me interested in his work.

Zoey Deschanel
How is it that Zoey Dechanel always looks so darling and classy? This 500 Day of Summer star first captured my heart when she was William Miller's rebellious sister in Almost Famous. Ever since I have kept an eye on her.

In 2006 Zoey teamed up with M Ward to form the indie-folk band She & Him. Check out this music video for She & Him's Why do you let me stay here? Which is a complement to the film 500 Days of Summer.

Ryan McGinley
Ryan McGinley is a photographer from New York City. His work is always stunning and one of my favourite collections of his photos was his photo essay of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics for The New York Times. Heres a few samples.

His shoot with MIA was awesome too, here is a video behind the scenes.

Facebook, the movie?
I came across this trailer for The Social Network movie this morning. Actually looks pretty good. : )
Terry Richardson
Terry Richardson is one of my favourite photographers and one of the most iconic of his generation. He has shot for an impressive list of clients, some of his most recent clients have included GQ, Rolling Stone and Harpers Bazaar. Here are a few of his recent shoots for magazines:

Last April he did a shoot with the Gossip Girl cast for Rolling Stone ...

One of his most well known shots ... Batman and Robin

The eyewriter.
Zach Liemberman is an artist and computer programer. He is combining the two in some pretty interesting ways.
Check out this video by PopTech and see his collaboration with Graffiti Research Labs that has enabled graffiti artist, Tony Quan who is almost completely paralyzed, to tag buildings from his hospital bed using only his eyes.
Tony Quan, aka TEMPTONE, LA graffiti artist using the eyewriter.
This technology allowed him to draw for the first time since 2003.

Everything is going to be alright.
I love typography and I love it even more on buildings.

It is an installation piece by British artist Martin Creed. The artwork is mounted on The Wing Sang Building, the oldest building in Chinatown, which is owned by Bob Rennie, an art collector and condo marketer.
Check out Martin Creed's web page.

Something's Happening Here

In Vancouver over the past year I have noticed a collection of posters advertising Expo 86, seeing new ones posted just last week I finally decided to google it.
It is public poster project "Something's Happening Here" by Jeremy Shaw and has included 25 posters in multiple locations around Vancouver. This project started February 2009 and has continued for the the duration of the year.
It was a project in response to the 2010 Olympics, commenting on the similarities of the effects of Expo 86 and this year's games.
Other posters included:
